How to run the test

  1. Pick a length: 1, 5, 10, 30, or 60 seconds. Five seconds is the usual click speed test.
  2. Click the pad once to start. Keep clicking until the timer ends.
  3. Your CPS is clicks divided by the length of the test. The best score for each length stays in this browser.

What the score means

Most people land between about 5 and 7 clicks per second on a five-second test. Above 7 is quick. Around 9 is very fast with a mouse. Scores near 12 usually mean a jitter or butterfly clicking technique, not a relaxed single finger. A one-second test reads higher and is less stable. A 10 or 30 second test shows whether you can keep the pace.

Use a mouse if you can. Trackpads and phone screens score lower because each tap takes longer. The timer starts on the first click, so that click counts.

A fair test

This page only counts clicks you make on the pad. It does not install anything and it does not claim to raise your speed by itself. Warm up, sit so your wrist is straight, and repeat the same duration if you want a comparison. Your best score is stored locally in this browser and you can clear it.

FAQ

What is a good CPS?

About 5 to 7 clicks per second is typical. Higher than 7 is fast for ordinary clicking. The number moves with the mouse, the duration, and whether you are warmed up.

Does the test start on the first click?

Yes. The first click starts the clock and counts as a click.

Are my scores saved?

The best score for each duration is saved in this browser only. Clear my records deletes them. They are not sent to a server.

Can I take the click speed test on a phone?

Yes. Tap the pad. A mouse on a computer usually produces a higher CPS.
